Legacy Family Eye Care
Our Services
We will make every effort to take a complete approach to your eye care. This means that we will take the time to not only understand your eye health and visual needs, but your general health, lifestyle, and dietary habits as well. This is somewhat rare in health care today, but we think you will find it to be a refreshing change!
Annual Eye Examinations
Regular eye exams are an important tool in eye health for detecting and preventing eye diseases and evaluating the overall health of the patient. Some diseases, such as glaucoma, develop gradually without symptoms or vision loss, so patients may not notice that anything is wrong until significant and irreversible damage as been done. Early detection of eye diseases allows for a better choice of treatment options and a reduced risk of permanent damage.
Medical Services
In addition to our comprehensive eye examinations, we also provide a wide array of specialty medical services. Sometimes, eye exam results or medical histories indicate that a patient could be at risk for a certain condition or disease.
Dry Eye Treatments
Dry eye is a multifactorial disease of the tears and ocular surface that results in discomfort, visual disturbance, and tear film instability with potential damage to the ocular surface. It is accompanied by changes in the normal tear film and inflammation of the ocular surface. In fact, dry eye disease occurs when your eyes do not produce enough tears or produce poor quality tears. That's why it's essential you get your tears analyzed by your eye doctor. Only an eye doctor can properly diagnose your problem and treat it appropriately.

Computer Vision
Have you ever added up the time you spend in front of your computer, tablet, smart phone, or other electronic device? Looking at screens is a normal part of our lives in the 21st century. Unfortunately, eye problems associated with this activity are also on the rise. Even if you have never had any eye problems before, you may have computer vision syndrome symptoms after a brief amount of screen time. Even if your symptoms are mild, they can worsen and may cause other vision problems.
Children's Exam
Many vision screenings test only for distance visual acuity. While the ability to see clearly in the distance is important, it does not give any indication as to how well the eyes focus up close or team together for the child’s schoolwork demands. It also does not give any information about the internal or external health of the eyes.
Georgia state law requires eye exams for children enrolling for the first time in Georgia schools. We are asking parents to make appointments now for their children to reduce the instances of eye and vision problems going undiagnosed and untreated in children.
